Drottningholm Palace is Sweden’s best preserved royal palace constructed in the 17th century, the permanent residence of the royal family and one of Stockholm’s three World Heritage Sites. The palace features magnificent salons from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, a beautiful park, a unique palace theater and a Chinese Pavilion. The imposing Baroque garden was laid out at the beginning of 1681 according to drawings by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. The palace and the park are mostly open to visitors year round. The palace has been the permanent residence of the present royal family since 1981. The rooms in the southern part of the palace are reserved for members of the royal family.

Charming Gripsholm castle is in the middle of lake Mälaren on the island, it is quite different from other Swedish castle. The castle has almost 630 years.
There is a unique collection of furniture and objects of applied art four centuries. To the sights belongs to one of the best preserved theaters in Europe of the XVIII century. Castle Gripsholm is known worldwide for its large collection of portraits – the national portrait gallery of Sweden – portraits of outstanding personalities, from the time of Gustav Vasa and up to the present time. Inside the castle you can see many interesting historical rooms with well-preserved luxurious interior, magnificent collection of paintings, which is part of the Swedish national gallery.
