Fjord Excursion: Fjord Cruise & Flåm Railway
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today you will embark on a full day excursion into the Norwegian fjord region. In just one day you will experience some of Norway’s most beautiful fjord scenery. The journey starts by train from Bergen to Voss, where you will board the bus to Gudvangen. You will experience Stalheimskleiva, with its 13 steep hairpin bends (only open during the summer) and the Nærøy Valley before continuing by boat for a cruise along the Nærøyfjord to Flåm. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord channel in Europe, and has recently been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. In Flåm you will have time to enjoy lunch on your own before boarding the Flåm Railway, which passes through a wild and beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and steep mountain sides up to a height of 900 metres. There is no other adhesion railway in the world running on normal tracks that is so steep over a long distance. The last part of the excursion will be by train from Myrdal and back again to Bergen.

Bergen City tour
Breakfast at the hotel. This day is all about walking around Bergen with professional guide. Bergen city centre is very compact with much to see and hear about within a short walking distance. This is a 3 hour walking tour of the downtown heart of Bergen.
The tour will take you to Bryggen, a World Heritage Site, the Bergen Fortress area, strolling passed old wooden houses, chimney houses & along cobblestoned streets while hearing of Bergen’s past & present. This will help you orientate and show you some of the unique places and sites that you may not otherwise find alone.
On this tour we’ll walk at the Wharf, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historical heart of Bergen.
The narrow alleyways will make you feel like stepping back in time to the era when the Hanseatic merchants dominated Bergen’s trade. You will learn about the stockfish trade, daily life in the Middle ages, and about the Wharf as a secret hide-out during World War II.
From the Wharf it’s a short walk to the Bergenhus Fortress, with the royal stone hall and the Rosenkrantz tower.
